Habitat classification using video and acoustic techniques
With a grant from the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund, administered through CEFAS, The Sussex Sea Fisheries Committee has undertaken a video & stills camera survey covering some 270 marine sites off the Sussex coast. The species and habitats that they reveal have been recorded. This data will be used to better understand the seabed off the Sussex Coast.
In addition to a camera survey an acoustic ground discrimination system has been used to remotely sense the seabed and to catagorise the habitats off the Sussex shore.
