SSFDC introduce Scallop Byelaw The Committee for the Sussex Sea Fisheries District (in exercise of their powers under section 5 of the Sea Fisheries Regulation Act 1966) have introduced further measures to protect and enhance scallop stocks within their District. This is by means of a restriction on the season during which scallops maybe taken. It further introduces a restriction on scallops caught as by catch in trawls.
